The Village is seeking an Intern to assist the Public Works Department this summer. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of administrative work, research and analysis and to assist Maintenance Equipment Operators with street, forestry, sewer and water tasks. This position will report directly to a Public Works Supervisor.
Job duties include but are not limited to: Assisting administrative staff with inventory and budget analysis, program evaluation, and operational assistance. This position will also have the opportunity to assist the Maintenance Equipment Operators with tree storm clean up, bush trimming, chipping of branches, painting items around the village, flushing of fire hydrants, help with water main repairs, running parts and materials to job sites as needed, removal of asphalt patch's and shoveling asphalt.
Candidate must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license.
Salary/ How to Apply
Hourly Rate: $13-$15 per/hour, depending on past experience
This position is for 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. overtime and weekends may be required, May 2019 through August 2019 (exact dates can be flexible with the candidate's school/ work schedule.)
