​Surveys are being mailed to Village residents to determine where cross connections exist between a property's water supply pipe and sources that could contaminate that water. Lawn Irrigation systems, fire sprinklers, hot tubs, spas and in-ground pools are examples of cross connections. If left unprotected, cross connections can allow contaminants or pollutants to enter the water system through "backflow," which could occur after a drop in water pressure.
Please fill out and return the survey, which is being administered by Backflow Solutions Inc. (BSI). The Village's compliance through its Cross Connection Control Program is mandated by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.
